The Blessing of the Fleets by Isis is a ritual of protection cast across the waters and into the vessels, the ancient Egyptians aligned with the energies of the Mother Goddess Isis, Queen of the heavens, to protect their sail boats each year...

in devotion
in sovereignty
in harmonic grace

It symbolized the opening of the seas for travel, and was a prayer for the safety of seafarers and for favorable conditions for maritime journeys.

In this sense, sailors, merchants, and coastal communities invoked Goddess Isis’ protection, especially at the beginning of the sailing season. 

The sea or river was inscribed as sacred space during that day — the water becomes a liminal portal of Isis’ blessing to maritime journeys. 

On September 5th, I gathered a gorgeous group of souls from all over the world in an online space, and led them in a protection meditation reenacting the Blessings of the Fleets by Isis, to bless and protect the Sumud Flotilla.

We all experienced a powerful communal energy under the guidance of Goddess Isis.

In just the last week, the historic Global Sumud Flotilla has been joined by protective Navy forces from Greece, Spain, Italy and Libya, protecting the courageous women and men who selflessly gathered for the humanitarian mission to break the illegal 18 year seige that is trapping our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Thus creating the first maritime humanitarian corridor via the sea, via international waters.
